In the category ‘Business Ideas’ participants finalists were João Vilaça, Maria do Ceu Taveira, Nino Pereira, Paulo Silva, Simão Soares and Teresa Barroso. In the category ‘Business Plan’ companies qualified for the finals were Codevision Ltd., Golden Number, Ltd. and WeAdapt - Inclusive Design and Engineering Solutions, Inc.
After the presentation of ideas in the competition, the jury SpinUM, composed by João Pereira (Inovcapital), Carlos Remísio (Vima Angels), Avelino Pinto (Spinpark) and Marta Catarino (TecMinho), awarded the 1st and 2nd prizes in the category ‘Business Ideas’ and ‘Business Plan’ .
The 1st Prize in the category ‘Business Ideas’ was assigned to the project “Surgical 3D System Pectus Excavatum” promoters João Vilaça, Antonio Marques Pinho, Jorge Correia Pinto and Jaime Fonseca.
The first edition of the ‘Business Ideas’ - SpinUM, whose round of applications took place between December 2008 and January 2009, addressed to the entire community of the University of Minho (researchers, scholars, students of any level of education and ex -students), intending to reward and support the most innovative business ideas and higher commercial potential in any scientific or technological.
